Frequently Asked Questions
- What format is best for iPhone?
- M4A (AAC). iOS accepts M4A ringtones up to 40 seconds.
- What format is best for Android?
- MP3. Android accepts most audio formats, 30 seconds is the common default.
- Why is the max 60 seconds?
- Ringtones are typically 30–40 seconds. Longer files work but are wasteful.
- Does it work on video files?
- Yes. Video is stripped to audio-only — perfect for grabbing a ringtone from a concert clip.
- How do I install a ringtone on iPhone?
- Open the downloaded M4A in GarageBand, or use the iTunes/Finder sync method. Full instructions in the Dayront App.
Custom Ringtones in Three Steps
Your phone should not sound like everyone else's. The Ringtone Maker turns any song, voice clip, or video into a phone-ready ringtone — with automatic fades so it sounds professional.
Choosing the Right Segment
The best ringtone segment is usually the chorus or a recognisable hook. 25–35 seconds is standard. Skip intros and long instrumental builds — you want the catchy part to start within the first second.
Format Guide
- iPhone — M4A. Max 40 seconds. Sync via GarageBand or Finder.
- Android — MP3. Max 30–60 seconds depending on the device.
- Other devices — both formats work on most phones.
Automatic Fades
Every ringtone gets a 0.5-second fade-in and fade-out by default. This prevents hard starts and clicks that sound amateur. You can adjust the fade durations or set them to 0 for an abrupt ringtone.
