Frequently Asked Questions
- What does each band do?
- Bass boosts or cuts low frequencies (below ~200 Hz). Mid shapes the body of voice and instruments around 1 kHz. Treble shapes clarity and air above ~6 kHz.
- Typical voice-over setting?
- Bass -2, Mid +2, Treble +1 for a warm, clear voice.
- Typical music setting?
- Bass +2, Mid 0, Treble +1 for a slight smiley curve — good for pop.
- Will it distort?
- At ±15 dB it might. Keep changes small for the cleanest result.
Three-Band Equalization
Equalization is the art of shaping tone. Our three-band EQ gives you the three most useful controls: bass (warmth and weight), mid (body and presence), and treble (clarity and air).
What Each Band Controls
- Bass (below ~200 Hz) — warmth, rumble, and weight. Cut for clarity, boost for impact.
- Mid (around 1 kHz) — the body of voice and instruments. Small changes here have big impact.
- Treble (above ~6 kHz) — air, clarity, and brightness. Boost carefully — too much sounds harsh.

Where EQ Fits in the Chain
EQ goes before compression. Fix the tonal balance first, then control dynamics. If you compress first, you compress the tone problems along with the volume.
Full chain: Denoise → Gate → EQ → Compressor → Limiter → Loudness Normalize.
